CRYSTAL SKULLS
Part 2: Crystal skulls, energies and consciousness.

In Part 1 crystal skulls are described in general terms. One aspect mentioned was that crystal skulls can be used for personal transformation. It was also mentioned that crystals carved into the shape of crystal skulls can do more energetically than when they would have if they had been left as crystals or carved into another shape. This article focuses more on the specific energies of crystal skulls. It will describe why the energy of crystal skulls is much stronger than that of the crystals they are carved from.

I will also look at the relationship between crystal skulls and our consciousness. Before doing so let us look first at the crystal aspect and then go more deeply into the crystal skull aspects.

More and more it is accepted that everything is and has consciousness. For a beautiful description and a more scientific point of view on this subject see the book "Stalking the Wild Pendulum" written by Ishtak Bentov. In many books about crystals it is mentioned that crystals do something with our consciousness. This is described most clearly in a channeling by Darryl Anka. Darryl Anka channels Bashar, an entity who says to live in our future.

To understand the relationship between crystals and consciousness, it will help to look first at the process of creation, the creation of physicality. For this we will use the ideas and information from Ishtak Bentov and Bashar.

First there was The One. The One became Self aware: I am that I am. With this realization He became explosively "All That Is". The One is in Itself Consciousness. With Self awareness the Consciousness began to express Itself in a myriad of ways. One of the aspects of Consciousness expressing Itself is the physical world as we know it. This physical world is what we, from our point of view, consider to be "existence", our reality.

Before consciousness can express itself in a physical form it has to pass through a matrix. This matrix is a blueprint of the many physical forms and is in itself an aspect of consciousness. This matrix is electromagnetic in nature. It means that electromagnetism is also an aspect of consciousness.

How does this apply to crystals? Crystals can be seen as solidified electromagnetism, a solidified electromagnetic field. When consciousness expresses itself in physical form It needs to decrease its frequency. The last step before it reaches physical form is electromagnetism. Consequently, we can say that crystals are a physical form that expresses consciousness most purely. This explains why, in time of increasing awareness and consciousness, so many people are attracted to crystals.

Those working with crystals have no doubt that crystals have strong effects on humans. These effects can be summarized in the five basic characteristics of crystals. The first characteristic is that crystals are reflective. In a way it is like looking in a special mirror. They put us back in touch with all aspects of self. You can use them to get in touch with what you have hidden deep inside you. They awaken you to the image of what you are as expanded being.

The second characteristic is that they are refractive, especially on the emotional and psychic level. If you project your consciousness through a crystalline form it refracts into a number of dimensional spaces causing you to experience alternate aspects of yourself. This can include what we call "past lives" and parallel realities.

The third characteristic is that crystals are transmitters. Consciousness itself, other level energies and light beings can send energy through a crystal for example to you, for the purpose of transmitting information.

The fourth characteristic is that they are able to store information. All knowledge can in a sense be stored in a crystalline matrix for retrieval or transmittal at any particular point in time. That is why many people compare them with computers. They can be seen as even better than computers because they can store information in a holographic way.

The fifth characteristic of crystals is that they help you to attune. As you attune to a particular vibration of a crystal, as you allow a crystal to attune to your vibration, you can use it in a sense as a gate or a doorway into another dimension of experience.

Every crystal has all of these characteristics, but they have them in varying ratios. For example, one crystal is better in storing information, while another is a better transmitter.

Let us look now at the crystal skulls. Crystal skulls, being made of crystals also have the same basic five characteristics. These characteristics are often experienced more strongly in crystal skulls than in crystals. Crystal skulls, even more than crystals, are called computers because vast amounts of information has been stored. Their ability to help to attune are mentioned by anybody working with them. Many people use the transmitting aspects to channel information. Most strongly, however is the reflective aspect. In the many workshops and meditation evenings with crystal skulls this aspect is coming up as the most remarkable and noticeable. Many people, while working with crystal skulls, have gotten insights that they had not yet been able to get in other ways.

So what makes a crystal skull different from the crystal it is made from? The only way to get a clear answer is to use psychic people and let them look at the energy of crystals and that of crystal skulls. It is true that the observations of psychic person are highly subjective. For that reason it is wise to get observations from different psychics independent from each other. The observations increase in value when more people have similar observations. So far all observations experience crystal skulls as "stronger in energy". For an understanding let me share the observations I have made. These observations have been confirmed by others to various degrees.

It is more generally accepted that humans, other living beings and even "dead" objects, have an energy field around them. In most cases this energy field is called the aura. Many people who are more or less psychic are able to see this aura. Besides the aura there are other energy fields around us and around objects like crystals. Some of these energy fields have shapes that are based on sacred geometry. An example is the star tetrahedron that exists around us and creates the lightbody or merkabah. It is hardly known to most people that there is yet another type of energy around us. This type of energy is also found around other living beings and around crystals. It is found in layers like the layers of an onion. These layers of energy are vibrating. Looking more in detail at these layers it becomes clear that each layer actually is composed of many different faces. The shape of these faces is mostly triangular and square, but can also be pentagonal. Because of this they have been called polyhedral (which means many faces) fields. The number of layers differs greatly with the different objects. Human beings have more than a hundred, while most plants have only 4 of 5 of these polyhedral fields.

Around a crystal we see in most cases 4 or 5 polyhedral fields. However, if we look at crystal skulls we see always a minimum of 6 of these layers and often even 7 or more. Is this a coincidence or are the crystals used to make crystal skulls different from other crystals? Or does something happen in the process of carving? The answer came from observing the energetics during the process of carving two skulls. In both cases the crystal, which was carved into a crystal skull was a crystal with 4 polyhedral fields. As soon as the crude form of the skull was visible in the crystal suddenly a 5th polyhedral field appeared. When the skull was almost completed yet another polyhedral field appeared. Obviously the process of carving a crystal into a crystal skull induces an increase in energy. This increase in energy seems to be characteristic for the carving of skulls. Many researchers of crystal skulls refer to the importance of the intention of the carver. The strong intention and focus of a carver can add a third layer of energy. This explains why in some cases not 2 but 3 extra polyhedral fields appear during the carving.

Crystal skulls that are considered to be ancient, like the Mitchell Hedges skull, Max, ET, ShaNaRa and others (see part 1), all have 9 or even 10 polyhedral fields. The additional outer one, two or three fields are wider than the others and have a more intense energy. It seems that working intensely with crystal skulls increases the number of polyhedral fields. Given the fact that the intention of a carver can increase the number of energy layers around a crystal skull, and given the higher number of polyhedral fields with ancient skulls, the question arises whether the number of polyhedral fields is a matter of intentional and frequent work with the crystal skulls. If that is true is should be possible to increase the number of polyhedral fields around contemporary skulls. Many years of working with contemporary skulls has shown that this is possible. We have been able to increase the number of these energy fields around contemporary skulls up to 9 layers. It is, however, still very difficult to increase the number of layers to 10.

Let us now summarize all the information in a coherent and simple explanation. The consciousness of all human beings is formed into a field that is called "collective consciousness". Similarly crystals form a collective crystal field and crystal skulls form a collective crystal skull field. To be able to join the collective crystal skull field a skull needs at least 6 polyhedral fields. Otherwise it will "stay" in the crystal field.

In my opinion the potential of crystals and crystal skulls are not optimally used. To say it differently, crystals and crystal skulls are not fully activated. A crystal skull can be activated in two ways. They can be activated in their overall potential, which is indicated by the number of polyhedral fields and within each polyhedral field. Most people are not yet able to use the full range of a crystal skull with even 6 polyhedral fields, let alone that of a skull with more than 6 energy layers. With our active consciousness we are able to activate the overall potential of crystal skull up to 9 polyhedral fields. In other words the occurrence of 9 polyhedral fields as a maximum can be seen as an expression of the development of our active consciousness. My feeling is that the maximum number of polyhedral fields may be 12. If we are able to activate the crystal skulls to that level we might have reached the moment that we are ready to go to the next level of active consciousness, which we call the 4th or even the 5th dimension.

Does this means that a contemporary skull with 9 polyhedral fields is equal to an ancient skull with 9 polyhedral fields? The answer is yes and no. Yes, in the sense that they have their overall potential equally activated. No, in the sense that the potential within each energy field is by far better optimized in ancient crystal skulls. Contemporary skulls have in my opinion a way to go. But they are absolutely equally capable of activating our consciousness. Is it not exciting to follow the process of activating your own crystal skull?

I like to end this article by repeating a comment from the first article: crystal skulls are wonderful tools to work with to understand ourselves better.

Additional information (December 2005).

Since this article was written the understanding of polyhedral fields has expanded considerably. Working with several ancient skulls and many contemporary skulls has taught us some insights I like to share.

I learned that each of the polyhedral fields has 12 different frequency bands (levels) that all need to be activated before you can move to the next polyhedral field. For example, when a crystal skull enters polyhedral field 8, it will be on level 1. The activation goes through all the 12 levels of polyhedral field 8 before it moves to polyhedral field 9.

I also learned that ancient skulls like Max and ET have all 12 polyhedral fields activated. This does not mean that the person that works with these skulls is able to access all the 12 fields. Consequently, not all 12 fields are “visible” or “perceptible” when a person is working with them. This lead to the erroneous belief that Max has only 9 or 10 polyhedral fields that are activated, as mentioned in this article.

The situation with contemporary skulls is different. With contemporary skulls only a certain number of polyhedral fields are activated. When I talk about “activated” this is not to imply that each level in each field is fully activated. It means that the potential of that level in that field and the ones below it are potentially ready to be filled in and/or used. The number of fields and levels that are activated depends on the state of active consciousness of the caretaker (or individuals working with the skull). This means that activating all possibilities of a crystal skull, which involves the activation of all 12 levels in all 12 polyhedral fields, is quite a journey. It is a journey of expanding consciousness of the caretaker, using the crystal skull as a wonderful tool in this process.

The goal is not to go as fast as possible to level 12 of the 12 th polyhedral field. It is far more important to work with each level in each polyhedral field, until you have mastered it. Once that happens, you will move to the next step automatically. In this way the crystal skull and you expand in a natural way, giving you the most optimal benefit in the expanding of your consciousness.
