Subtle Energy Systems

The process of transforming duality into unity is a journey. It is a journey of discovering “who we are”, (our true self) and letting go or transforming all that “we are no longer”. Where we are on this journey is reflected in our physical and energetic condition. When we have physical or emotional problems we go to a doctor or specialist. However, every physical, emotional and mental problem is also reflected in the condition of our subtle energy systems: our energetic condition. Our overall vibrational state determines where we really are, because it reflects everything we have not (yet) dealt with, released or transformed. For that reason energy and counseling sessions are very helpful on our journey.

When we talk about human energies we go beyond the measurable electromagnetic aspects which are part of our physical functioning. We refer to the subtle energy systems that are connected to life force and reflect the state of our consciousness. We have three main systems of subtle energies: meridians, chakras and the aura that consists of our subtle bodies.

From our perspective there is no separation between the systems. The physical and the subtle systems form one total integrated and interactive system that we call the “human energy system”. For ease of discussion and understand we talk of sub-systems. These subsystems are different ways we can approach looking at the total human energy system for the purpose of healing, balancing and raising vibrations. The different modalities we offer are different ways to approach the total system using a deeper understanding of the sub-systems.

Meridians are flows of life force that flow through our body. Our organs are all located on different meridians. In general people work with 14 meridians, the organ meridians and the conception vessel and governor meridians. These flows are influenced by “negative” emotions, like fear, despair, anger, sadness, worry and pretense. Modalities that work with points on meridians are acupuncture, acupressure and Jin Shin Jyutsu. The Earth provides us with vortexes that hold the meridian energies. Understanding chakras is important. They are the basis of most of our healing and counseling sessions.

There are seven main chakras connected to our body. Chakras are places we exchange energy between our physical body and our energy bodies and/or our environment. Chakras also reflect the way we interact with the world we live in. While there is a lot that can be said about chakras, here we will give a short basic description. The 1st or root chakra is the chakra of feeling safe and accepted (loved) in this world. The 2nd or sacral chakra is the chakra that reflects how we relate to every aspect of the world around us. The 3rd chakra or solar plexus reflects our self esteem, self worth, how we think about ourselves. The 4th or heart chakra reflects whether we love conditionally or unconditionally. The 5th or throat chakra is the chakra of expressing who we are (or believe we are). The 6th or brow chakra (3rd eye) is the chakra of intuition, higher knowing. Finally the 7th or crown chakra is our connection to the spiritual world, to All-That-Is.

There are five energy bodies: the etheric, the astral, the emotional, the mental and the spiritual. They reflect our physical and spiritual well-being and therefore are also important for our journey from duality to Oneness, which is the journey of healing and raising our vibrations.
